Welcome to Bake With Clara
Hey there! I’m Clara Simmons, the baker and creator behind Bake With Clara, your cozy corner on the internet for all things delicious. If you’re here, it means you share my love for creating magic in the kitchen—whether it’s the perfect breakfast to start your day, an impressive dinner idea, mouthwatering desserts, or a show-stopping appetizer. For me, baking and cooking have always been about more than just following recipes—it’s about the memories made, the smiles shared, and the pure joy of seeing simple ingredients turn into something truly special.
My recipe philosophy is simple: food should be fun, approachable, and a way to bring people together. I believe anyone can bake and cook—yes, even if you’ve never cracked an egg before! My work has been featured in Bake Magazine and The Home Chef Collective, I was a finalist in the National Home Baking Challenge (2023), and I’ve had the honor of collaborating with brands like KitchenWonders and SpiceSprout. But honestly, my proudest achievements are the messages from readers who’ve baked their very first loaf of bread or surprised loved ones with a homemade treat.
What I’ve learned in my baking journey is that the kitchen is a place for both big wins and happy mistakes—sometimes the most unexpected recipes become family favorites. I’ve discovered that when you pour a little love and patience into your food, it always shines through. So whether you’re a total beginner or an old pro, I’m thrilled to have you here at Bake With Clara, and I can’t wait to share, laugh, and learn together.

How It All Started
My love for baking started when I was a little girl, sitting on the counter in my grandmother’s sun-filled kitchen, helping her knead dough and sneaking tastes of cookie batter. Those early memories—flour-dusted hands, the smell of cinnamon in the air, and laughter echoing off the walls—are the heart of why I bake today. As I grew up, baking became my way to unwind after a long day, connect with friends and family, and celebrate life’s little victories.
What I love most about recipes is their power to tell a story. Each recipe is a memory, a tradition, or a new adventure waiting to happen. I started Bake With Clara because I wanted to capture these moments, to write them down and share them with others who felt the same spark. My hope is that each post inspires you to make your own kitchen memories—whether that’s a big family breakfast, a weeknight dinner, or a sweet dessert just because.
Bake With Clara was born out of a desire to teach, encourage, and connect. I truly believe that sharing food is sharing love, and there’s nothing more rewarding than hearing how my recipes bring people together. This blog is my way of giving back, one recipe at a time.
Why You Can Trust Me
With over 12 years of hands-on baking and recipe development under my apron, I’ve learned what works—and what flops. My experience ranges from weekend family baking sessions and local community classes to professional recipe testing for some of the most beloved kitchen brands. I’ve honed my craft through self-study, culinary workshops, and hundreds of hours in the kitchen, making (and remaking!) everything you’ll find here.
Every recipe on Bake With Clara is tested—sometimes multiple times—to ensure it’s reliable, delicious, and achievable for home cooks. I approach each new post like a mini science experiment: researching techniques, tweaking ingredients, and tasting every batch until it’s just right. Quality and trust are non-negotiable for me, and I never share a recipe I wouldn’t make for my own family.
I’m also a bit of a food photography nerd! All the photos you see here are taken by me, often in natural light and with minimal styling. My goal is to show you exactly what you can expect in your own kitchen—beautiful, yes, but never intimidating.
When I’m not baking, you’ll find me hiking local trails, trying new coffee shops, or curled up with a good book (cookbooks totally count, right?). I’m a lifelong learner and love diving into food history, new cooking trends, and different cultural traditions. This curiosity keeps my recipes fresh and inspires me to always keep experimenting.
Above all, I want Bake With Clara to be a place you trust for reliable recipes, honest tips, and a bit of kitchen cheer. Your success is my biggest motivation!
